This Monday night residency has ran for decades, since the early 70s. It started at Michael’s Pub and is now at the Carlyle.
It’s around this time of year that Allen and the band announce the first six months or so worth of shows. If history holds (and no reason why it shouldn’t), there’s a break to produce a 2017 film, as well as promote the 2016 film. What’s new this year is Allen’s commitment to deliver a 2016 Amazon Series. With Allen sticking in New York, and building in production times to make the end of the year, the series is likely set in the Big Apple. The other option is that it is delayed, and will shoot in the second half of the year for a 2017 release.
That is all speculation for now, but it looks like a typically busy year for Allen.
