In lieu of our regular March News Bits, this time around we are wrapping up bits of news surrounding the Bullets Over Broadway Musical.

Bullets Over Broadway‘ wrapped up it’s first week of previews. It earned a respectable $655,710 over six performances. Word of mouth has so far been fantastic, so lets see how this plays out.

You can get last minute ‘rush’ tickets from the St James Theatre box office every day. Tickets are $37 and limited to two a person. The box office opens at 10am. Go get them!

One of our favourite stories of recent times – Karen Ziemba talks about bonding with her co-star Trixie in the New York Post. Her character Eden Brent (originally played by Tracey Ullman) had a dog in the 1994 film, and that character quirk carried into the musical.

We know that the script has changed quite a bit from the film, but one key line remains and can be found in a new t-shirt!

Susan Stroman, the director of ‘Bullets Over Broadway‘, will be honored with the New Dramatists‘ 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented to Stroman on the 22 May 2014 in New York. Tributes will come from many performers who worked with Stroman, including Marin Mazzie.

One of the event’s cochairs is Letty Aronson.

Theater Mania has more details.

Zach Braff is a lucky man.

Finally – costume designer William Ivey Long also posed for some shots with a pair of dancers.

And some close ups of his work

We will be back at the end of a month with a regular News Bits.
