It’s Thanksgiving, and one film that always makes lists of greatest ever Thanksgiving films is Allen’s own Hannah And Her Sisters. Last year we posted Allen’s great monologue from the film. This year, we are going for a great romantic scene, featuring Michael Caine and Barbara Hershey.
In the film, this part is called ‘…nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands’.
The scene is tied together by the poem ‘somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond‘ by e e cummings. As a bonus, here is cummings reading the poem himself (and read it here).
Maybe next year we will think of something else to do. Until then, it’s unlikely we will run out of great scenes from this film any time soon.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers!
