Allen’s latest, Blue Jasmine, didn’t make it to Cannes this year. But the actor will return to the city in a couple of months to make his 2014 film. With the wrap up of Cannes 2012, we thought we’d revisit some old interviews with Allen at Cannes. We settled on a series of interviews from 2010, whilst promoting You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, that shows many sides of Allen.
First is a lengthy chat with France24. It’s a very serious conversation about death, art and magic.
Follow that with a full press conference with Allen joined by Josh Brolin, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch and Naomi Watts at a press conference. He hints at deeper things, but he’s more joking and charming. And it’s clear the cast loves him.
Most interesting is he mentions two actresses he would like to work with – Cate Blanchett and Reese Witherspoon. Well, he’s got one of them!

Part 3
‘You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger‘ is not one of Allen’s most loved films, and his last film to be set in London. So it’s interesting to hear so much about the film, and the passion and work Allen and the cast put in. Here’s more clips from that press junket.
Josh Brolin discusses ‘You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger‘ at Cannes 2010 (as well as some ‘Wall Street 2’)
Naomi Watts discusses ‘You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger‘ at Cannes 2010
With Allen filming in Cannes this summer, it seems inevitable that Allen’s 2014 film will premiere at Cannes next year.
