Galleries 1988 in Venice, LA, is throwing a tribute to Woody Allen. Something they have done occasionally, they have asked a number of new artists around the world to create works inspired by Woody Allen.
We’ve collected everyone we could find. Some are on wood, and one is a sculpture. No doubt there is more to see at the actual gallery. Many of the pieces are for sale and you can buy them by contacting the gallery.
It’s an amazing collection, and an amazing tribute. It covers a breadth of films and phases of Allen’s career. And amazing how different artists can show you what they see in the world. The artwork will be on display until 2nd February 2013.
Many of the artists write about the works on their blogs, and some offer pics of work in progress as well. We’ve provided thumbnails – click through for full size. Artist site links and our comments are included, and they are listed in no particular order.
